A computer-aided light microscopy system for three-dimensional reconstruction of axonal projections

Axons allow nerve cells (neurons) to signal each other over long distances. Axonal projection patterns determine the organization of the central nervous system. Morphological techniques to analyse axonal projections systematically include tracing the trajectory of labelled axons, mapping the distribution of labelled axonal terminals and nerve cell bodies and reconstructing their original spatia...

Holographic Three-Dimensional Computer-Aided Imaging

Recent developments in a new method of holographic computer-aided imaging are reviewed. The proposed hologram is computed from angular viewpoints of the observed three-dimensional scene. The recorded data are processed to yield a two-dimensional computer-generated hologram. When this hologram is illuminated properly, a threedimensional image of the scene is reconstructed.

The computer-aided facial reconstruction system.

A computer imaging system was introduced into the facial reconstruction process. The system, which consists of the image processing unit for skull morphometry and the image editing unit for compositing facial components on the skull images, was an original construction. The image processor generates the framework for building a face onto the digitized skull image. For reconstructing a facial im...

Computer-aided Craniofacial Reconstruction

This paper presents a novel craniofacial reconstruction algorithm based on moving least squares deformation. The 3D skull mesh model is obtained with Marching Cube Algorithm, which extract the iso-surface from a complete head CT slice datum. The holes detected in the 3D skull model can be repaired with different methods after the holes are clarifed . Then, the craniofacial is reconstructed usin...

Peribiliary vascular diseases in rejected livers; computer-aided three-dimensional reconstruction and morphometry.

I N recent years more and more attention has been paid to the so-called vanishing bile duct syndrome, a progressive loss of intrahepatic bile ducts observed in various liver diseases, including chronic rejection of allografts.I-5 As yet, the factors responsible for causing this condition still remain mostly unknown. In a series of analysis on transplanted livers,6.7 we found that in failed graf...
